Laila's best friend Tariq tells her that him and his family are moving to Pakistan because of the fighting. This is an example of enduring the unendurable because Laila has known Tariq all her life and Tariq is all she has left besides Mammy and Babi.
While packing up her belongings in Kabul, Laila gets hit by a rocket outside. This is an example of enduring the unendurable because Laila had also lost her parents in this event. She just began to see hope with moving to Pakistan, and now that opportunity is taken away from her.
