  • King George is not allowing us to settle west ofthe mountains.
  • This is not accectpable. He can't tell us where to live.
  • We are protesting the Stamp Act. The British are over taxing us and we have no say in it.
  • Oh my goodness! Please don't make a mess of our home.
  • I can do whatever I please because the British are the reason your here.
  • Proclamation of 1763 The two men were planning to settle west of the App. Mountains, but the king just issued the Proclamation of 1763, which doesn't allow them to settle west of the mountains.
  • The colonist need to start paying for things themselves.
  • Stamp Act, 1765 These men are boycotting the Stamp Act because the British are over taxing the colonist without their say in it.
  • If the British want to tax us, we want representatives.
  • The Quartering Acts, 1765 These acts said that the colonist had to let the British soldiers live in there house. In this picture the family is upset that the soldier is making a mess. Some people who didn't mind them staying in their home would be a neutralist or loyalist.
  • Now I can't work because you patriots had to waste millions of tea boxes!
  • The Townshend Acts, 1767 These acts were passed because King George wanted the colonists to start paying for their own things. So he taxed things like tea and paper. This upset the colonists a lot because it showed that the British still didn't understand "taxation without representation".
  • I know! I'll tax them on paper, lead, paint, and tea.
  • Boston Tea Party, 1773 This was lead by the Sons of Liberty and patriots helped to get attention because the British were over taxing the colonists, limiting their freedom, and not listening to them.
  • Intolerable Acts, 1774 These were passed to punish the colonist because of the Boston Tea Party. The first act is showed here which was the British closed down the Boston Port. Many thought this was unfair because it punished everyone but only a few committed the crime.
  • Closed
  • At least we did something unlike you loyalists!
