  • Hamilton's Financial Plan
  • Washington's Inauguration was on April 30, 1789 in New York City. Congress passed laws to set up three executive departments Treasury, State, and War. Washington appointed 4 men Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Henry Knox, and Edmund Randolph. This group of people became known as the Cabinet.
  • Whisky Rebellion
  • The main Financial Crisis that the United States when Washington took office was when they had a lot of debt and they aren't making enough money to pay off the debt. What made the stitution complicated was that the debt was mostly bonds.

  • The 3rd part of the plan didn't pass because Thomas Jefferson lead the South and John Adams  lead the North. So Hamilton's Plan is what divided the group to make two different sides. (Republicans and Federalists)
  • French Revolution

  • To raise money, the congress imposed a tax on all he whisky made and sold in the country. A lot of the farmers that make the whisky for extra profit protested and refused to pay the tax. So they went in groups and burned down the homes of tax collectors.
  • According to the Treaty of Paris, the British promised to withdraw their forts. 10 years later the British were supplying the Native Americans with guns and ammunition. Washington sent small forces to try to end the Native American attacks on settlers. 
  • The French Revolution began on April 1789. The Three main causes of the Revolution was Financial Crisis, Economic Depression, and Enlightenment/ Age of Reason. The name of the new government was "The National Assembly".  Marquis de Lafayette also played an important role in setting up the new Government.
