  • Hunting store open
  • Daniel Boone was born on November 2, 1734
  • Boone was given his first rifle when he was twelve years old. He showed people he was a talented woodsmen, by shooting his first bear when most children were too scared.
  • When Boone was 15 his family moved to Rowan County, North Carolina where he started his own hunting business.
  • He was a wagoner for the Brigadier General Edward Braddock during his time in the French and Indian war. He luckily survived his army's defeat at Turtle Creek and escaped on horse back.
  • Boone moved from place to place, because he was kidnapped by Indians, and he was robbed. He finally settled in Missouri where he continued to be a huntsman.
  • At age 85 Boone died of natural causes on September 26, 1820. He is still remembered as one of the greatest woodsmen is American History.
