Daniel Boone was born on November 2, 1734
Boone was given his first rifle when he was twelve years old. He showed people he was a talented woodsmen, by shooting his first bear when most children were too scared.
When Boone was 15 his family moved to Rowan County, North Carolina where he started his own hunting business.
He was a wagoner for the Brigadier General Edward Braddock during his time in the French and Indian war. He luckily survived his army's defeat at Turtle Creek and escaped on horse back.
Boone moved from place to place, because he was kidnapped by Indians, and he was robbed. He finally settled in Missouri where he continued to be a huntsman.
At age 85 Boone died of natural causes on September 26, 1820. He is still remembered as one of the greatest woodsmen is American History.
