This storyboard does not have a description.
Let me explain the history of Virginia. It was the first permanent English COLONY. John Smith was our first governor. It was found to find gold and wealth for people who settled in the colony.
Virginia was also one of the royal colonies that were ruled directly by the King.
It was one of the proprietary colonies as well. They signed a charter to grand the land a wide stretch in area.
But the colony was in a big trouble when it came to the winter times. People were dying, lacking food from the previous droughts. People call it the "starving time"
They were also afraid of Indian attacks that happens frequently.
"Starving Time" didn't end until a person named John Rolfe discovered that tobacco grew very well.
After "Starving Time", more colonists came in to live in Virginia, defending from Inidan attacks.
Then, in the 1970s, a planter named Nathaniel Bacon start a rebellion on enforcing defenses on Indian attacks.
However, he died of fever, and the rebellion group soon fell apart.
Luckily, the colony survived with hundreds of people coming every few months, bringing money, growing crops.
Eventually, we created a representative government called the House of Burgesses to pass laws and taxes.
