  • Are you sure,Iago? I'm certainly confused, I myself don't know why your telling me this.
  • Othello; Desdemona and Cassio are having a secret affair!

  • Roderigo; myself has came up with a plan for revenge on cassio! Hehe
  • Get cassio drunk, so he could get removed from his position by othello!

  • I'm going to hurt you roderigo!
  • Oh My! Cassio stop! What are you doing?
  • This is an example of dramatic irony because Iago tells a lie to Othello stating "My eyes have caught cassio wiping his beard with Desdemona's handkerchief" The audience knows that Iago convinces Othello that Cassio gave it to Bianca, which convinces him that Cassio and Desdemona are having an affair.

  • Emilia; Myself does not recall a stolen handkerchief!
  • This is an example of dramatic irony because Iago is coming up with a plan . "Roderigo; pick a fight with Cassio, so he can lose his position'' The audience knows that iago wants to start trouble to get even with othello.

  • My love for her is unexplainable, she (bianca) is great at what she does
  • This is an example of dramatic irony because Iago got cassio to drink more alcohol,so cassio got drunk and brought his sword out aiming it at roderigo."Damn you roderigo" The audience knows that roderigo and iago did it on purpose.

  • Desdemona your cheating on me with cassio?!
  • Why is my loyalty being questioned? I've never cheated.
  • This is an example of dramatic irony because Iago seemed to act like he didn't know what emilia was talking about."What handkerchief? The one the Moor gave to Desdemona, which you asked me to steal so many times". This audience knows that iago told his wife to put the handkerchief in cassio's closet
  • Iago; My ears have told me to take desdemona's handkerchief!
  • This is an example of dramatic irony because iago is questioning cassio about having sex with desdemona, but is referring to bianca. " I'm glad to show my deep love for her" The audience knows that othello is convinced about cassio having sex with desdemona.
  • This is an example of dramatic irony because othello is feeling miserable with no hope finding out desdemona and cassio were in love. The audience knows that othello was never cheated on by desdemona.
