Storyboard Text

  • Hi! Welcome to Mohenjo-Daro I lived 5,000 years ago in the modern day countries of Pakistan and Northern India.
  • Here we have what we rely on the most, the Indus River. Without it we wouldn't have water or fertile soil to grow crops. This is where the name Indus Valley Civilization comes from
  • Anika, get away from the water! The monsoon is coming
  • As you can see, by Anika's surprise it's almost impossible to control the monsoon
  • Really?! Already
  • Homes where typically made of mud bricks. This is also where people worked, because workshops were in houses. It gor so hot that people would sleep on the roof, because  it was cooler
  • Children used toys such as chess and pull along toys, a lot like we do in modern times
  • The Indus Valley Civilization was the first ancient  civilization to have a major water system. They dirty water would flow from houses through  pipes to the river.
  • Dirty water from toilets would flow out from the pipes
  • To shower they'd stand on a brick and pour water on themselves.
  • The Hindu religion was greatly influence by the Indus Civilization religion. Some aspects include ritual bathing, and praying to the mother goddess for fertililty.
  • I need more cattle
  • To show that stuff was paid for the Indus Valley citizens made seals out of clay
