  • January 21 1924- Lenin Dies. Staling tells Trotsky a different date, so he doesn't attend the funeral. Before this, they had attacked Trotsky for his Menshevik work earlier.
  • "You're not a true Leninist"
  • Stalin attempts to ruin Trotsky's reputation. In 1925-25 accuses him of not properly following Leninism.
  • "Socialism In One Country" We don't need a worldwide revolution, we just need the Soviet Union to be powerful.
  • Tortsky vehmently disagreed, but was now too disliked. Zinoviev and Kamenev were more right so wanted him removed from the politburo
  • October-November 1926: ·At the Fifteenth Party Congress, Stalin attacks the "United Opposition" of Zinoviev, Kamenev, and Trotsky.
  •  By the time of the next Party Congress, in October of 1926, Zinoviev and Kamenev had been removed from the Politburo. He now had enough power to remove all anti-leninists, including Trotsky
  • Stalin now hadd enough power for Bukarin to retreat. Stalin also put forward his 5 Year Plan for rapid industrialisation of Russia, to be enforced by Gosplan
