Okay let’s review for our test… I can’t remember the first theory so let’s start with Buffon’s Collision Theory
He is a French naturalist that proposed the planets were formed by the collision of the sun with a giant comet
and as it contracted it spun more rapidly this causes it to become a flattened object with a bulge at the center. As nebula collapses, local regions contract due to gravity and the local regions became the sun and the planets.
moving on to the Kant-Laplace Nebular theory
that was when Descartes, Immanuel Kant and Pierre Simon suggested that nebula (a great cloud of gas and dust) began to collapse because of gravitational pull
so Jean Jeffreys’ Tidal Theory by sir James Hopwood and Harold Jeffrey proposed that?…
They proposed that a speeding massive star passed near the sun, and it pulled off material due to gravitational attraction. The torn off material subsequently condensed to form planets
oh so the first theory must be the Descartes’ vortex theory by the French mathematician and physicist Rene Descartes’….
if I remember it correctly he proposed that the orbits of the planets are the primary whirlpool motion and the satellites is the secondary whirpool motion…
