  • Hello everyone!Today we will be talking about the causes and effects about the Mexican American War.
  • Back in the old day,Mexico and America had alot of conflicts between them.There were good things and bad things that came of the trouble.
  • Mexico and the U.S disagreed about annexing Texas to become a full legal state with United States.
  • On April 25, 1846, Mexican cavalry attacked a group of U.S. soldiers in the disputed zone under the command of General Zachary Taylor, killing about a dozen. They then laid siege near a American fort near Rio Grande. Zachary Taylor called for reinforcements and with the help of rifles and more soldiers they were able to defeat the Mexicans.
  • The Mexican-American War started in 1846 and it ended in 1848.Mexico lost one-third of its territory and including all present-day :Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. United States won the war with Mexico and they annexed Texas with U.S.
