The important event that occurred in Gn 6:5-22 was that, God saw that there was too much sin in humans and they were not good anymore (as he planned). So God then plans to destroy all of his creations and start over. The first thing that happens is that Noah finds favor with God. God then orders Noah to build an ark because he was going to flood the earth and destroy all human beings. Once the ark was built Noah was next ordered to put a male and a female of every animal. Noah was also ordered to have the right resources for the animals and not let them die. Finally, all Noah had to do was wait for God's future instructions for the ark. A life lesson we can learn from this passage is to always be faithful to God and you shall be rewarded. As Noah was rewarded and saved from the flood with his family.
"When the Lord saw how great the wickedness of human beings was on earth... the Lord regretted making human beings on earth...'I will wipe out from the earth... not only the human beings, but also the animals"(Gn 6:5-7).
"Make yourself an ark of gopherwood... I, on my part, am about to bring the flood waters on the earth... I will establish my covenant with you" (Gn 6:14-18a).
"Of all living creatures you shall bring two of every kind into the ark, one male and one female, to keep them alive along with you... He did just as God had commanded him"(Gn 6:19-22)
Aways be faithful to God and you shall be rewarded
