Storyboard Text

  • We took the ship to the edge of the water and led it into the ocean, setting up our mast and spar into the black ship we have, let the animals such as the rams and sheep of the land aboard and went afterwards with tears in our eyes and had a bad feeling in our gut.
  • But now a breeze came from behind us, it was a strong wind sent by Circe; so we prepared for the impact of the wind and stuck together and attached ourselves to the insides of the ship so we wouldn’t blow away, and let the wind and the steerer of the ship guide us through the day until night touched the sky, and every way in sight disappeared behind the unresting sea.
  • When night came our boat continued on till the oceans end, finally hitting  the land of Cimmerians that is hiding in the mist and clouds. The sun never shown in the sky that morning, even when the sky filled with stars, or when he would come back to earth: the destructive night wandering over those who are unhappy. We finally reached land and brought our animals like ram and sheep ashore, and followed the ocean path.
  • With my drawn sword, I brought back the promise I made  and dug a hole. I poured liquids into the hole to offer sacrifice to the unnumbered dead. Then I addressed the lifeless bodies of the dead... I sacrificed a black lamb, the best of the flock. This calms the nations of the ones that have died I pledge these beliefs, then slashed the lamb and sheep, letting their blood into the whole that I dug.
  • Now the souls gathered coming out of the underworld. From every side they came up with muffled cries. I gave command to my officers to skin the sheep and make offerings to Hades, and his wife Persephone. I crouched  with my sword to keep the ghosts from the pit till I should know the presence of Tiresias.
  • One death came first Elpenor, of my crew, is still unburied on Earth. I had to ask why he died earlier than me. He sighed and answered,”Odysseus bad luck followed me. I fell off the roof. Now I pray for  the ones of the real world, like your wife and son. When you start traveling back please don’t forget me. Give me a good final resting place. I saw my mom and Thebes. He told me that I would be the only one to survive of my crew.
