  • Parados
  • Chorus- "Creon, the son of Menoeceus, Whom the gods have appointed for us in our recent change of fortune"
  • Prologue
  • "'How could you dare, when Creon has expressly forbidden it?"'
  • "'Would you help me lift the body... you and me?"'
  • Scene 1
  • "'You shall be racked and tortured till you tell the whole truth of this outrage"'
  • "'Though I offend your ears, sir, it is not I but he that's guilty that offends your soul"'
  • In the Parados, it gives us information on what happened during the war between the Eteocles and Polynices and how at the end of the war, the citizens of Thebes cheered victoriously
  • Scene 2
  • "'Well, what do you say, Do you admit, or do you deny the deed?"'
  • In the Prologue, Antigone asked Ismene if she would help her bury Polynices and go against Creon's order and Ismene responds by saying no and that we cant break the law especially because they are women
  • Scene 3
  • "'Since when do I take my orders from the people of Thebes?... I am the king, and responsible only to myself"'
  • In Scene 1 , The Chorus and Creon were having a conversation when the Sentry comes through the doors to tell Creon that Polynices was buried and initially Creon blamed Sentry but then the Sentry said it wasnt him but that he would find who did it
  • Scene 4
  • "'Indeed there is no more to hope for"'
  • In Scene 2, The Sentry brings Antigone to Creon and they tell Creon that Antigone was the one to bury Polynices and when Creon confronts Antigone about it she does not deny her actions
  • "'I do admit it. I do not deny it... I do not think your edicts strong enough to overrule the unwritten unalterable laws"'
  • In Scene 3 , Creon and Haeman have an argument. At the beginning of the scene , haeman follows his dads orders but then he statrs insulting him when he figures out that he is going to kill his fiance
  • "'Then , is she dies, she does not die alone...Nor from this hour Shall you see me again"'
  • In Scene 4 , Antigone is talking to the Chorus about how she believes that got her fathers curse in the family and then she is led away but before that she talks to the Gods and reminds them that she did the right thing in the eyes of the Gods
  • "'Gods of our fathers , my city, my home, ruler of Thebes! Time says no longer... because i honored those things to which honor truly belongs"'
