  • WARNING Hurricane  Harvey is reaching Houston
  • To survive a hurricane you must make sure to watch the news and keep up with where the hurricane is going.
  • Make sure to move all of your belongings outside to the indoors and  cut any weak or large branches off of your trees. You will need to board up your windows either with a 5 by 8 marine plywood or with hurricane shudders. 
  • Make sure to turn off all of your utilities and your propane tank if you have one.  Set your fridge and freezer to as cold as it can go .
  • attention!! it is now safe to evacuate 
  • Collect all of your food and water and a radio so you can keep up with the status of the hurricane.
  • Take your food and water to the nearest shelter or to your basement if you have one, make sure all of electric things are off.
  • Wait in your basement or shelter and listen to the radio so you can know when it is to safe to evacuate your shelter .
