Storyboard Text

  • "The first man had his three wishes...I don't know what the first two were, but the third was for death.  That's how I got the paw" (Jacobs 31).
  • Exposition: When Sergeant Major Morris introduces the monkeys paw to the white family, he provides background information about the monkeys paw and its magic
  • "If you don't want it Morris...give it to me" (Jacobs 32).
  • Conflict: Sergeant Major Morris tried to get rid of the monkey's paw,but Mr. White took it for himself, for the three wishes.
  • "I won't...I threw it in the fire. If you keep it, don't blame me for what happens..." (Jacobs 32).
  • Rising Action: Mrs. White realizes that they haven't made their last two wishes yet, she wants to wish there son back.  Mr. white is against it, but after she keeps begging to make the wish.  He take the monkeys paw and makes the wish.  They hear knocking at the door.
  • "I wish my son alive again" (Jacobs 37).
  • "Wish!" (Jacobs 37).
  • "It's my boy; it's Herbert!" (Jacobs 38).
  • Climax:  Mr. White rushes to the monkey's paw to make his last wish.
  • "Don't let it in" (Jacobs 38).
  • Falling action: The knocking stoppped
  • Resolution: The door opens and there is nothing outside.
