Storyboard Text

  • I'm pregnant!
  • It's okay sweetie! We'll get through it.
  • The one-child policy is affecting many people as they are being forced to kill their unborn baby.
  • Mom, can I go outside and play with the kids?
  • You may do so when you are ten years old.
  • Its okay, soon you will be able to work and go outside!
  • These families have problems where if they don't pay a fine then the child is at risk of being taken. Which is making families start to hide their children.
  • Most families want to have the baby and might be forced to bribe or threat anyone standing in the way.
  • Most children born second in their family normally face a lot of consequences. For example not being able to have a life because they are undocumented.
  • The government has started to turn a blind eye as to second children when they have come to the age of ten because they can work.
  • Its estimated that around 13 million children without an identity are living in China today.  Hidding because they aren't verified citizens of China.
