  • Florence Nightingale was the youngest of two siblings. She and her sister were both named after the cities they were born in. (Florence, Italy- Florence Nightingale, and her sister Frances Parthenope Verney) Her parents are named William Nightingale, Frances Nightingale. Where as she and her sister were born in different cities, they all lived in England.

  • Florence Nightingale had gone to school to study to become a nurse. She had received an education at King’s College London.
  • Awards
  • Around the time Florence Nightingale was about to finish her studies, in the middle east the Crimean War had taken place in Italy.
  • Death
  • At the time of the Crimean War, Nightingale and her team of nurses were located to help take care of wounded solders, at the British Army Base. At the base she and her nurses were told by the army doctors to just to simple tasks and that they did not need help. But her experience was needed to tend the soldiers, as she tending her patients and was known to them as, "Lady with a Lamp."
  • Florence Nightingale was awarded a handsome scroll in a wooden decorated box at her door, due to the fact that she could not leave her home. She was also awarded many other awards.
  • On August 13, 1910, Florence Nightingale had passed away peacefully in her sleep in her room at 10 South Street, Mayfair, London. Her body is buried in the churchyard of St. Margaret's Church, East Wellow. She was 90 years old when she had passed.
