Jack the monkey got really hungry one day and decided to get a banana from a tree. Jack is 8 feet away from the tree, he is also looking at the banana at a 49 degree angle. Since Jack is well educated, he uses trig to find how high the banana is. Tan (49) * 8 = 9.2ft
The next day, Jack got hungry again and decided to eat another fruit besides a banana. He finds a lemon tree and tries to got a lemon. Jack does not know how far he is from the tree, however, the tree is 20 ft and he's looking up at a 32 degrees. Jack uses trig. 20/tan (32) = 32 ft. Therefore, Jack is 32 ft away from the tree.
When Jack was walking back from getting fruit, he ran into his best friend Gerald the Giraffe.
After talking with Gerald, Jack was told he had to find a gift within the trees. Jack finds a present in a tree from his point of view of 2 ft from the ground, at a distance of 12 ft. Jack once again uses trig to find the angle, he does tan-1(2/12) = 9.5 degrees.
When Jack reaches the present, he takes it home...
