Storyboard Text

  • After the Romans conquered the Greeks, they adopted much of their culture. This included their religion.
  • They were Pagans, meaning that they worshiped many gods at once. There were specific gods for different things. For example, Venus was the goddess of love.
  • If you were respectful to the gods, you would be rewarded. If you did not please the gods, they would punish you.
  • The Romans gave the gods many offerings to please them, such as food and drinks.
  • Festivals were often held to honor the gods. One example was the Ides, held every month for Jupiter, god of the skies.
  • The Romans revolved their lives around the numerous gods and prayed to them every day.
