Storyboard Text

  • With the war happening between Japan and China, the Japanese turned to Manchuria for resources to help them win the war. The Japanese quickly invaded, taking over land from the Chinese.
  • Meanwhile, in the West, the U.S., Great Britain, and Germany were discussing whether or not to help China out.
  • Well without you, we can't do anything. At least British interests aren't in immediate danger.
  • With the economy failing, I refuse to take part in a trade embargo against Japan.
  • In the Far East, Japan established Manchuria as the puppet state of Manchukuo.
  • Now we can own all of the resources and win the war with China, proving we are the best in the East!
  • After a request from China, the League of Nations, including the United States, Germany, and Great Britain decided to create the Lytton Committee to investigate Japan's actions.
  • Japan's use of an army was unjustified!
  • Japan should give up territory and withdraw!
  • Manchuria is NOT a state!
  • Japan was not happy with the results from the Lytton Committee
  • We're leaving the League of Nations!!!
  • The League thought that they took the best action they could given the circumstances. With issues more important than the Manchurian Crisis, the League turned their backs on China and waited for the crisis to end.
