Hello everyone. I am Bella and I am here to talk about Road Safety Measures.
When driving fast, not only are you endangering your own life, you are also endangering the lives of others. Let us observe Newton's Law of Motion.
Inertia can propel a driver through a car's front window during a crash if airbags do not cushion their movement. A driver must apply the brakes to compensate for the inertia gravity creates as a car goes downhill.
Wear your seat belt and drive at the speed limit. When you accelerate a car from rest, the road provides an unbalanced force on the spinning wheels to push the car forward.
One afternoon, an LTO representative named Bella was asked to present a talk about Road Safety Measures and Precautions to the public.
Newton's Second Law states that the greater the mass of the object being accelerated, the greater the amount of force needed to accelerate the object. This is the Law of Acceleration.
You may realize that a car with less mass is easier to accelerate because it has less inertia than the cars with bigger mass. If the mass is greater, then the car will be harder to accelerate.
She starts off by warning the public about the dangers of driving fast. Bella incorporates Newton's Law of Motions in her talk.
When both cars crash, they will experience equal and opposite forces and they also have identical time of impact. Thus, remember to check your brakes and keep a safe distance with the cars around you.
Lastly, Newton's Third Law states that when you push against something it pushes back on you with an equal and opposite force. This is the Law of Interaction.
Bella proceeds to talks about the importance of seat belts. Seat belts provides the unbalanced force that brings the person from a state of motion to a state of rest. She relates this with Newton's Law of Inertia.
To summarize, wear your seat belts, drive at the speed limit, know your vehicle well and drive at a safe distance at all times. Driving fast brings consequences not just to you, but to other individuals as well.
When driving, keep in mind Newton's Law of Motion. This will help you remember what to do to avoid such consequences
The Law of Acceleration in relation to Road Safety shows that you may not need to accelerate that much when you have a smaller vehicle due to its mass. People driving with smaller vehicles must be aware that they do not need to accelerate as much compared to driving big trucks.
The mass of a truck is much greater than a car, which means that the truck requires more force to accelerate it than a standard car. Choose and know your vehicle wisely.
The Last Law of Motion of Newton is the Law of Interaction. Bella stresses the importance of keeping a safe distance with the cars around to avoid crashing into them. Checking one's brakes from time to time is also important to further prevent crashes.
Bella ends her speech with a summary about all the points she made. She hopes that the audience will apply this in their daily lives in order for them to be safe at all times.
Once again, this is Bella and thank you for coming to this talk. I hope you learned something and may you apply this in your daily life to ensure safety when on the road.
