Story of the film
Australia: The home of Molly, Gracie and Daisy. Jigalong is their home town, a desert area.
The girls are taken from their tearful family to be trained as servants because they are "half-caste" children.
Aboriginal languages are abandoned. The children are to speak only English, strictly reinforced by the nuns.
Moore River settlement. A.O Neville is deemed the legal guardian of all mixed aborigine children.
Homeward bound, the girls escape through the woods near the settlement during breakfast and church services.
•Mogdu, the aborigine tracker is sent to find the girls and return them to Moore River, a necessary task if he wishes to be reunited with his daughter.
Gracie stays behind to venture off to the train station in hopes of being reunited with her mother. Molly and Daisy return for her but she is found and captured soon after. Molly and Daisy follow the rabbit proof fence home.
