late at night, Okonkwo was confused when he heard the sound the gong booming, knowing something bad has happened.
the next day, many men gather together to find out what happened. The men find out that a woman from their tribe had been killed in a neighboring city, and were all enraged about it.
instead of fighting, the men decide to bring Okonkwo to the village to collect a young boy and virgin girl
Okwonko, someone who is not fearful of war, sucessfully brings back the virgin girl and male.
once Okonkwo returns, the clan decides that the virgin girl will go with the widower to make up for his murdered wife, and that the boy would be apart of Okonkwo's family.
at the end of the chapter, we see how Okwonko treats his 3 wives and 8 children with no respect, and only expects them to do what he wants them to with no questions asked.
