  • calculating probabilities using multiplication principle
  • to solve these types of problems you must multiply A and B .
  • 1 REPRESENTS THE CHANCE THAT A 3 HAS BEEN LANDED ON THE FIRST TRY. SO TRANSLATE THAT TO 1 OVER 6
  • IF A DIE IS ROLLES TWICE WHAT ARE THE POSIBILITIES OF LANDING A 3 ON THE FIRST AND THEN AN EVEN NUMBER
  • 3 REPRESENTS THE CHANCE THAT AN ODD NUMBER WILL BE ROLLED. SO TRANSLATE THAT TO 3 OVER 6
  • SO YOU MULTIPLY THE 1 BY 3 AND THAT GIVES YOU 3 THEN YOU MULTIPLY THE 6 BY 6 WHICH GIVES YOU 36 SO YOU END UP WITH 3 OVER 36 YOU THEN SIMPLIFY TO 1 OVER 12
