  • The Big Bang - January 1st
  • The Solar System - September 1st
  • The First Life - September 21st
  • This under the magnifying glass is a Prokaryotes. It looks like a cell, in which it basically is
  • It is January 1st at midnight on Carl Sagan's Cosmic Calendar. This is the beginning of the Universe. The beginning, of everything...
  • Oxygenation of Life - October 29th
  • On September 1st, the Sun was Formed, and it was the beginning of our Solar System. The planets formed approximately 10 billion years later.
  • Human Evolution - December 31st
  • The first life (Prokaryotes) on Earth was formed on this day. These things were very simple microscopic bacteria, but we must remember that we evolved from these things.
  • The Modern Era - 23:59:59
  • And this is us today. Hi, I'm Carl Sagan, and welcome to Cosmos. Currently it is December 31st, 1 second to midnight but we'll never reach it. Time keeps going on forever. From the Big Bang, to our Solar System, to the beginning life, and to us today. Human life has come such a long way.
  • On October 28th, the Earth began oxygenation of the atmosphere. This is roughly what the Earth looked like then. Mostly water, and some land which were rocks.
  • From December 31st at 06:05, to 23:52 was human evolution. From a primate to an ape to a human. After 23:52 the Bronze Age began.
