  • Thank you for saving Europe, Martel!
  • Most historians believe that the Battle of Tours took place where the Clain and Vienne rivers meet. The Arabs and the Franks stood at a defensive position and didn't start the battle until the 7th day.
  • Effects of the Battle of Tours
  • That's Martel, the one who saved Europe from the Arabs!
  • The Franks defended Europe while the Arabs tried to get pass them. Charles Martel, the military leader, helped lead them with a very clever plan. Eventually, Duke Odo and some soldiers raided the Arab's camp, which caused them to retreat during the night.
  • The Arabs retreated back to the Pyrenees, and Charles Martel earned the nickname Martel, which means hammer. Later on, Martel would soon drive the Muslims out of Europe, again.
  • You're welcome!
  • If Charles Martel didn't lead the Franks, then Europe would have fallen and be conquered by the Arabs.
