I came on a ship from my home land of Poland. I saw the buildings and knew I was safe.
I can't wait to be an American. To get money and pay for my out cloths.
This is the Americans house. They are nice.....only I thought they were going to pay me. I thought they were gonna pay me.....
Only then did they tell me that they were from the same village as me, and I thought they were American.....
I left that place......I went to the ghetto and worked in a sweatshop......and this was where I slept
I eventually left and I went to go find another job. This place taught me to stay true to myself and stand for myself.
After I left the sweat shop, I went to work in a factory doing weights lines in shirts and I'm the fastest one on the floor.
So while was in the factory, I ended up going to a speech class so I can speak English better. only then did I find the women association.
After I learn English better, I began to write a book to help my people if and when they come over to the U.S. I finally realized that we have to fight for what we want, cause not everything is fair in the U.S.
