  • The effort that went into this presentation is clear! Look how far you’ve come from not wanting to do it at all!
  • Teacher praises the process, builds a growth mindset
  • I want to especially note the collaboration that’s apparent in this presentation. Each of you brought your own interests and skills to the research, and each of you played a role in the presentation.
  • Teacher begins with positive, specific feedback
  • I’m glad you came in to see me with your first draft. You’ve narrowed and focused your topic nicely.  I see plenty of strong sources as well, which tells me you’ve done your research.

  • So tell me, if you look at the assignment requirements, do you feel you’ve covered everything adequately?
  • For the most part, yes.  Though, I’m not sure if I have engaged all sides of the debate on this topic, as you’d asked.

  • Good observation!  I think you can take this paper to another level if you put some more energy into the various perspectives of the debate.  Look at the issue from the point of view of all the players – countries, organizations, citizens. You still have another 2 weeks to polish it up, if you want to do that.
