The king is always absolute!
But the people's opinion matter!
Ismene will be spared but I will lock Antigone up far away!
Are you sure that's a good idea?
Love, unconquerable, has separated father and son
Haemon is trying to plea with Creon to spare her because he's in love with her and that's the people think too. Creon thinks he's fallen into Antigone's trap and doesn't listen to him at all.
Creon isn't going to execute Antigone anymore, instead he's going to lock her far away. This is his idea of still being in control yet not making his people mad.
The chorus talks about how love conquers all but love has ruined Creon and his son Haemon.
