Justin Lee 3rd Period 5-1-18
"A Shocking Accident" By: Graham Greene
Jerome is the main character. The whole story is about him coping with his father's death.
Jerome's father died. A pig fell off of a balcony and fell on him while he was walking down the street. Jerome was ashamed of his father's death because it was a stange way to die.
The main conflict is that Jerome fears that people will only remember his father for his death. He wants his memory to be respected. He tried not to tell anyone how it really happened.
The resolution is that Jerome becomes engaged with a woman. He finally tells her about his father's death and she doesn't laugh. She was sympathetic.
The theme of the story is respect, love, fear, embarrassment, comedy, and fulfillment.
