  • Women in the war varied their tasks in assisting, whether spying for intelligence, boosting morale, physically supporting, or fundraising for the troops.
  • Foreign Born Heroes of the Revolution
  • Supplies from the Spanish!
  • Some Natives sided with the British because they believed they would enforce the Proclamation of 1763. Others supported the Patriots because they had interacted with them for so long. A few tribes remained neutral, viewing this as a British civil war.
  • Espionage and Intelligence Gathering in the Revolution
  • Will Washington know?
  • African Americans in the war were promised freedom on both sides. However, the British were more kind to them and valued them. The Americans did not trust them. The British promised freedom to any escaped Patriot slave.
  • Weapons / Tactics / Military Life
  • During the revolution, foreign allies of the Americans donated much needed supplies, money, and troops to succeed the British. These foreign nations included Poland, France and Spain.
  • Intelligence gathering was incredibly important in the Revolution. Masked letters, invisible ink, and the Culper Spy Ring were just a few of many methods used to win battles in the Revolution.

  • Life in the Continental Army was grueling, demanding difficult marches and fighting the bitter cold. Their supplies were poor, until the French allied themselves with the Americans.
