“I soon realized I was at the top, and there was no way up but down…I looked back at my life, what I accomplished, and noticed I’ve never actually felt happy. Sure, I felt happy that I accomplished my goals, but I soon asked myself ‘Did I actually succeed in life? For what is a life, if you don’t actually live it-
“So what happened?”
“A life is nothing, if you don’t make the most of it and live. One can not say they have lived, without having experienced the daily struggles, the temporary sadnesses, and the overwhelming joy of touching other people’s lives”.
After this, Rigley soon became aware of what he must do, and thanked the old man. He walked back into the city, and tried to mend all the broken relationships he had with everyone. He talked, and got to know each one, and suddenly grew more happy. He went back to his family, and soon loved life and its joys.
