  • Sugar Act: 1764
  • The Quartering Acts required the colonists to provide room and board for British Soldiers stationed in North America. The soldiers served various purposes.
  • Quartering Act: 1765
  • Violence broke out among the colonists and British soldiers in Boston. Five men died in the shooting.
  • Boston Massacre: 1770
  •  The East India company had the right to control all trade of tea. Therefore, colonists still had to pay the high tax on tea.
  • Tea Act: 1773
  • During the Boston Tea Party, colonists dressed up as Native Americans and threw tea into the harbor.
