Hmm I think I should go and check out that talking and burning bush!
2. Introductory Speech
I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.
3. Imparting of a Mission
So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.
Moses encounters a burning bush and he is drawn to it.
4. Objection by the prophet-to-be
Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?
It is God who speaks first. Before the call, God makes a self accouncement.
5. Reassurance by God
I will be with you!
God sends Moses on a mission to save his people. This mission will send Moses to Egypt in search of the Israelites, and to free them from slavery and lead them to the promised land.
6. The Sign
And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you.
Moses seems a little reluctant to go as he proves that by questioning God and asking how a man like himself can do such a task.
God gives him reassurance that he will be with him at all times. Moses agrees to the mission.
Well then, I guess it will be okay...
God instructs Moses to throw his staff on the ground. It turns into a snake and when he picks it up it turns back into the staff. The Lord says that this will prove to the Israelites that the Lord has truly sent him.
