I am fine. Let's keep going.
Let's go back
Your health is more important. Let's go back.
But to these words I hearkened in vain for a reply. I grew impatient. I called aloud— "Fortunato!" No answer. I called again— "Fortunato—" This is situational irony because Fortunato means fortunate in Italian and he was anything, but fortunate towards the end.
"We will go back; you will be ill, and I cannot be responsible. Besides, there is Luchesi-", "Enough," he said; "the cough is a mere nothing; it will not kill me. I shall not die of a cough." This quote represents dramatic irony because it shows how Montresor is using reverse psychology to lure Fortunato down to the catacombs so that he can kill him, but Fortunato does not know that those are his intentions.
"You are a man to be missed. For me it is no matter. We will go back; you will be ill, and I cannot be responsible. Besides, there is Luchesi—" This shows how Montresor is trying to get Fortunato to come with him by saying he is not fit for the job. By doing this, he is insulting Fortunato and that just makes him keep wanting to down.
