Storyboard Text

  • I wonder if I can condition this child to become afraid of a rat.
  • Hmm the child seems to be getting along just fine with the rat. I wonder how I can teach him to fear the rat, but for now the rat is just a neutral stimulus (NS)
  • Goo goo gaga. Fun rat
  • Excellent. The child is getting scared of the noise and has an unconditioned response (UCR) to the noise which is the unconditioned stimulus (UCS)
  • Waaaa! Noise scary
  • It seems that the child is now scared whenever he is near the rat, even when I don't bang the hammer. The rat has now turned into a conditioned stimulus (CS) and the child has a conditioned response (CR) to the rat
  • WAAAA! RAT SCARY
  • Interesting. The child is also scared of the cute bunny. Therefore, the child has made a generalization that this learned fear must also be transferred to similar white furry animals
  • WAAAA! SCARY!
  • Regardless of setting, this child is still scared of white furry animals. Too bad we can no longer recondition him since he's getting adopted very soon.
  • WAAA! SCARY!
