Storyboard Text

  • Shay's Rebellion was an armed uprising from the year 1786-1787. It started from the fact that farmers were not getting appreciation from people when they fought in the Revolutionary War
  • But one of the most well known problems that led to Shay's Rebellion was that farmers received little compensation
  • Due to the fact of Shay's Rebellion, Congress had a meeting to discuss this matter
  • On  January 25th,1787, the largest battle of Shay's Rebellion took place in Springfield, Massachussets
  • Surrender Now!
  • NEVER!
  • The attack on the Springfield Arsenal lasted all day and night
  • This act has gone way too far and it must end now
  • We surrender
  • But in the end only 11 were killed but 2 of which had committed burglary and they were hanged afterwards due to actual crimes
  • But in the end, Shay's Rebellion is one of the most important events that helped to make our constitution, and without this rebellion we would still have the Articles of Confederation to deal with.
  • End
