In the kingdom of thebes, two princesses, Antigone and Ismene, enter the castle and talk about how their brother, Polyneices, will not be buried for causing a war. Antigone plans to bury him even though it is against the law.
Antigone is caught and brought to the king, her uncle Creon. He is very angry about this and sentences her to death. Antigone says that he is weak and a bad king, but he is too prideful to admit it. The guards take her away.
After that, Creon's son, Haemon, walked in and talked about how his laws and punishments are harsh and defy the gods. Creon was angry about Haemon's disrespect and they argue. Creon even threatens to kill antigone early.

Antigone is then placed in the tomb where she will eventually die. When she is put in, she is scolded by the people of Thebes for her supposed crime. She doesn't care about that anymore. She has accepted he fate.
When Creon goes to get Antigone out of the tomb that she was put in, he finds her dead due to her hanging herself. Creon's son is crying in the tomb because he just lost his fiance. so he ends up stabbing himself and the queen commits suicide after that. Creon blames himself for everything that has happened.
