A murder has occurred at the Rue Morgue. A woman named madam L'Espanye and her daughter were brutally murdered. Her daughter being stuffed in the chimney and madam being throw out in the backside of the buiding.
Police are so puzzled on how the murders occurred. The testimonies from people are inconsistent in the language spoken as the girls were murdered. Le Bon is arrested because he was the last person to see madam three days prior the murders . Dupin starts investigating
Dupin investigates, finding multiple clues and using his great detective skills. He looks on the marks of madams daughters neck and finds the hand to be connected to an orangutan
Dupin solves the case, concluding that it was an orangutan that killed Madam. He finds a scarf that belongs to a sailor while he was investigating. He sets up the sailor by putting up a ad in a newspaper about an oranggutan being found. The sailor shows up and he confesses
The sailor tells Dupin the entire story. The orangutan got free and went to madams house. It slashed madam with a razor and shook madams daughter to death while strangling her. He threw madam out the window and stuffed the daughter in the chimney
Le Bon is freed from jail and the case is solved. The sailor sells his Orangutan and Dupin is happy that he solved a case that the police couldnt.
