Father, how did the Catholic church start being accepting to everyine? How did it originate?
Well, it all started with the Second Vatican Council.
Well, it all started with Pope St. John XXIII and St. Paul VI, they created the Second Vatican Council that allowed the Church to be open for everyone and anyone regardless of demographic!
Woah! What else did the Council contribute to the Church?
They also contributed to the spread of the Catholic Church. In the method that they made the mass understandable for all through the translation of biblical scriptures and passages for everyone to understand and relate to God's message. This was called to be the Sancrosactum Concilum, wherein masses could be celebrated according to the language and location where it is taking place.
What else did the Council contribute?
That document is essentially the Pope telling us to keep our responsibility towards the Church. Which is to spread His word, understand His word, and respond to the call of the times.
Whats the other document, Gaudium et Spes about, Father?
It is wherein the Pope tells us to respect each and everybody in our Church. In the Catholic Church, we accept everybody, which is why we should alike, respect them for who they are.
What about the Nostra Aetate? What's that?
Not a problem! Always remember to spread the word of God and respect those around you. Love another as you love your God.
WOW! They really did a lot with regards to the growth of the community. Thank you for sharing, Father!
