Kaitlyn's Myth Of Oedipus
Storyboard Text
- A oracle arrived to King Laius and told him that if he had a son he would kill him and marry his wife.
- There not your birth parents!
- YES WE ARE!
- King Laius and his wife Queen Jocasta have their son and name him Oedipus.
- The shepherd who ended up with Oedipus came across King Polybus and Queen Merope, who than adopted Oedipus.
- Many years later Oedipus came across a man telling him the truth about King Polybus and Queen Merope. He told him that there not his real parents, as they continued to deny the truth.
- DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!
- After Oedipus realizes that what he was told is true, he leaves Corinth and goes to Thebes to prevent this all from happening. On his way he came across his father, they got into a fight and Oedipus accidentally killed him.
- After the prophecy was fulfilled and they came to realize what they have done, Queen Jocasta hung herself, when Oedipus found her dead he stabbed his own two eyes out. His two daughters stayed with him to help guide his way around now that he is blind. He eventually died in Colonus.
