  • Sophie has just arrived from the doctors and she has been told that she is pregnant. She has to change her diet in order for her baby to develop well and have energy for herself .
  • Looking at Sophie's and her husband's food you can see a huge difference. He is eating junk food like ice cream whereas Sophie is eating a variety of different food. She is eating healthy to prevent her child's development of growth getting affected.
  • Louis is supportive for Sophie as he is a biology teacher and he knows all about special diets for pregnant women. Plenty of fruits and vegetables provide vitamins,minerals and fibre. This helps digestion which helps to prevent constipation.
  • Starchy food are important for energy, vitamins and fibre. Starchy foods should be the main part of every meal. Whole meal is better than white bread or potato with their skins on, this because they contain more fibre.
  • Protein and dairy are important when a women is pregnant. Fish is a type of protein which is really good because it is good for growth and repair for cells. Dairy is important it contains calcium and other nutrients that a baby needs.
