"When the Devil comes to you does he ever come with another person?"
Motivations of Reverend Hale
"Exellency,it is enough he confess himself"
Reverend Hale is a Dynamic Character
"Excellency, it is enough he confess himself. Let him sign it, let him sign it"
One trait that Reverend Hale has is that he is manipulative. In the beginning of this play he manipulated the girls into telling him that they saw people of the town with the devil. At this point in the play the people think that Mr. Hale is a good person.
Reverend Hales motivations were to try to make Salem a better place. He fails in doing this and makes things worse on people such as Goody Proctor.
Reverend changes his thoughts of the girls and things that John Proctor should not be hung and needs to save himself. He now does not think that the girls are telling the truth.
