Exposition: The story takes place in the old man's house. The main characters are the narrator, the old man and the police. The overall mood of the story is suspenseful.
Am i mad? Hearken! I am healthy.
Rising Action: The narrator sneaks into the old man's house at night to watch him sleep and he claims that the old mans eye bothers him. This foreshadows that he will do something bad to this man based on his suspense.

Slow and steady, i think he's sleeping.
Climax: The narrarator kills the old man and he is brought alot of joy because he believes that his eye will not bothering him no more.
He is dead! Finally dead!
Where can he be? We can not find him and we have searched everywhere till the point of lethargy.
Falling Action: The police arrive at the old man's house to look for him and he's no where to be found. The narrator lets them search the house but guilt begins to sink in. He begins to hear a thumping sound building up in his head.
I DID IT! I ADMIT I KILLED THE MAN!
Resolution: The narrator admits to killing the man because the heartbeat in his head grows louder and stressful. The heartbeat was in his head the guilt caused him to hear the old man's heart beating still.
