Storyboard Text

• It is a beautiful day outside, you picked a good day to go to the beach!
• I know right! There's barely any wind and the temperature is great!
• Well, according to Newtons first law, if the net external force on an object is zero, the object's velocity will remain unchanged.
• why isn't that beach ball moving?
• There is a blast of wind
• Woah! Look at that ball go! The amount of wind it takes to move the ball determines the acceleration of it.
• Three days later...
• So who was that Newton guy you were talking about at the beach?
• Isaac Newton? He was a physicist and mathematician who developed the principles of modern physics, including the laws of motion.
• Why is this chair so hard to move?
• Because the greater the mass the harder it is to accelerate the chair, so you would need to push it with greater force.
• That is actually Newtons 2nd Law, it states that the greater the mass (of the object being accelerated) the greater amount of force needed (to accelerate the object)
