  • Rising Action
  • I take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I’ll be new baptized. Henceforth I never will be Romeo
  • O, be some other name! What’s in a name? That which we call a rose By any other word would smell as sweet.
  • Climax
  • It's just a scratch...
  • The Capulets throw a masquerade ball to reconcile the skirmish between the two feuding families.
  • Falling Action
  • You are to marry Paris!
  • Romeo and Juliet profess their love for one another and plan to meet again.
  • Resolution
  • Mercutio is killed by Tybalt. Romeo, being outraged, kills Tybalt and soon after realizes what he's done. As his punishment from the prince, Romeo is banished from Verona.
  • Free
  • Capulet and Lady demand that Juliet marries Paris later that week.
  • Romeo finds Juliet "dead" and decides to kill himself so he can be with her. Shortly afterwards, Juliet wakes and kills herself, after seeing Romeo's lifeless body.
  • Romeo and Juliet enter the afterlife together and live happily ever after.
