The theme of the story A Long Walk to Water is teamwork can accomplish anything.
Salva and the group use teamwork when they were walking to the Nile.
The group also used teamwork to build the boats that they crossed the Nile in.
Another example of the theme is when they reached the refugee camp in Ethiopia.
In the story it says " Every time Salva delivered a load of reeds, he would pause for a few moments to admire the skills of the boat builders." This shows the teamwork from the men to build the boats.
Americans showed teamwork with Salva to create clean water for Sudan.
In the story it says "The refugee camp at Itang was filled with people of all ages-men, women, girls, small children. . . . But most of the refugees were boys and young men who had run away from there villages when the war came." This shows that the boys and men had used teamwork to get to the refugee camp.
During Salva's journey to many places, he has used teamwork. All of the times he has used teamwork, he accomplished something. Thus, our theme of a "Long Walk to Water" is "Teamwork can accomplish anything."
Salva and his new group of boys used teamwork when they went to the new refugee camp in Kenya
In the story, it says " Salva spoke to hundreds of people- in churches, at civic organizations, in schools." Later in the paragraph it says " Day by day, solving one problem at a time, Salva moved toward his goal.
