  • Well that was quite the trade
  • That was a very successful town meeting!
  • Better luck next time!
  • Victory is Ours!
  • Britain Colonized North America and created the 13 colonies. The British first set up Mercantilism in the Northern Colonies. Mercantilism is the economic belief that a country becomes wealthy through trade and that you must export more then you import. When it all started Mercantilism worked and Britain was most beneficial and there were no issues until later on.
  • The wine was never this expensive!
  • The King has recently added a tax
  • The 13 colonies were split up into 3 regions. The New England Colonies, The Middle Colonies, and the Southern Colonies. The 3 regions were still subject of Britain but they were unique because they were all famous for different things, and different interactions with Britain. Town meeting were popular in the New England Colonies. William Penn was very Famous in the Middle Colonies. Finally, the slave and plantation system was very important in the Southern Colonies.
  • The French and Indian War was the war between Britain and France over land. Each of the countries wanted power and land in North America. Britain ended up gaining all of the land and the French lost all of their land. also the British changed laws of moving and the colonies had to pay for most of the war. The colonies were taxed and had to pay for the British Troops.
  • Maybe the olive branch will be a better attempt
  • Britain decided to give the colonies a few policies. One of the major policies was Navigation Acts. The Navigation Acts were stating that the colonies could only trade with Britain and had to be done on British Ships. Another policy was the Sugar Act. That Act was putting a tax on sugar, wine, indigo, and molasses. The last policy was the Quartering Act and that was when the Colonists had to provide housing and food for the British soldiers if they had no where else to stay.
  • After the policies were made, the Colonies reacted in such ways...they tar and feathered Red Coats and loyalists. They also had the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party was when the Sons of Liberty boarded British Ships and threw 90,000 pounds of British Tea overboard.
  • Another reaction from the colonies were the Continental Congress. The Continental Congress were a group of Colonists who wrote a letter to the king and asked him to stop axing goods or they would start to boycott. The second meeting they sent an olive branch petition attempting to make peace. After that they formed an army.
