Early Arabs- They lived in the Arabian Penusulia, they were nomdaic, they were polytheistic which mean't they believed in many gods they mostly follow allah there main god, they were ruled by shiika which was a council of elders.
The prophet muhammad- He was born in makkah, he was one of the three to get revelation from allah, he became a political leader and religious leader.
Five pillars of Islam- First is belief and it means to beleive in no other god but allah, second is prayer and that means you should prayer 5 a day, third is charity which mean dontate time and money to the poor, fourth is fasting and that means on’t eat or drink during day through whole month of ramadan, fifth is pilgramage and that means to go to makkah once in a lifetime
split into islam- After muhammads death there was a split over who should become the religious leader, the first one was shiites and they believed that muhammads son and law should come leader, the second was the sunnis and they believed that the umayyed general should take over so they split.
fundamental/extremist- Fundamentalist is the literal interpretation of holy scripture, extremist is the way of thinking/practicing that is outside mainstream.
Arabic culture- men dominated the culture, women got social and spiritual rights, many women wear hijab head scarfs to show respect, they developed algebra and a system of numbers, they used the stars to show location, they worshiped in mosques.
