  • Soliloquy
  • Romeo, Romeo, Wherefore art thou Romeo?
  • Romeo
  • Foil
  • Paris
  • Dramatic Irony
  • A Soliloquy is when a character shares their thoughts out loud so that the audience can overhear them- like when Juliet is talking on her balcony. It literally means "talking to oneself!"
  • A FOIL is two characters who are opposites- they highlight differences in each others's personality or characteristics. For example, Paris and Romeo both want to marry Juliet, but for very different reasons.
  • Dramatic Irony is when the Audience knows something that the characters don't. For example, the Capulets think that Juliet has died, however the audience knows that she isn't actually dead.
